Mira
Submission Guidelines
Overview and Important
Highlights:
- You must be a member of the Creative Eye
cooperative and have signed the Mira artist agreement prior to making a
submission.
- When selecting images for review and
coordinating your submission, please remember the following
criteria:
-
- There is no minimum or maximum number of
images per submission, but it is highly recommended that you pre-edit
tightly.
- Review the submission guidelines
completely. Failure to follow the submission guidelines will result
in the return of your submission for appropriate
corrections.
- Creative Eye/ Mira reserves the right to
review and edit all scans performed by the artist in their submission
and will reject scans of poor and/or questionable quality.
- Mira does not accept submissions in the
form of negatives or prints.
- Label all media (CD or DVD) with your
name, Mira ID#, email and phone number. Provide this information on
the actual discs as opposed to the jewel cases or
envelopes.
- Mira scans all selected images at approx.
50MB at 300ppi, color corrected and client ready.
- If you plan on scanning your own hi-res
files, please read and understand the following requirements: If you
have questions, ask before submitting to avoid delayed processing.Call
856.231.0594 or Editing.
-
- Mira.com accepts digital images scanned
from film ranging from 25-60 mb without interpolation. Submitting
non-interpolated files at our required size (between 35-60 mb), will
ensure that your images are available for the largest possible number
of uses. If your scanner capability allows please aim for approx. 50mb
at 300ppi to keep the digital archive consistent. Scans from film of
less than 35mb minimum will be rejected.
- Mira.com accepts digital camera files
starting at 18 mb (as 8-bit uncompressed RGB TIFFs). We only accept
photo reportage material or images produced from high end professional
digital SLRs below the 18 mb minimum. We request that you do not crop,
interpolate or upsize images from digital cameras. If files originate
from a digital camera please note this in your submission cover
letter.
- Submitted digital files should be
Photoshop RGB.TIFF files.
- No layers, paths or alpha channels in the
files. If you archive in .PSD format, please flatten image layers
first and save as a TIFF before submitting. If Photoshop guides are
used in image preparation remove or hide them prior to
saving.
- Eliminate all black edged borders from
scanned images. If necessary, crop your image files. Correct horizon
lines with the aid of Photoshop guides and perspective cropping
tool.
- Clean all dust and scratches, color
correct, set correct exposure and leave high-res image unsharpened. If
the high res file is already scanned with an small amount of unsharp
mask applied, then the image may be accepted into the digital
archive.
- Digital images uploaded to Mira.com will
appear exactly as they were submitted. Mira will make no adjustments
or corrections to scans that are submitted
- For more information, please refer to
the Mira
Digital Guidelines section (note this is a members only
feature).
- Final Submission Must Include the
Following:
-
- Caption, keyword and restriction info in
one of the following forms:
Online Captioning, or File Info/IPTC (embedded in
